CS Fantasy Football League 2020

While the NRL, AFL, A-LEAGUE and Cricket Australia deliberate about how and when they can commence playing during 2020 the CS Fantasy Footy League will begin on 9th May 2020 (regardless of anything Scomo and Health officers say!)

Okay, this fantasy football uses the Tattslotto numbers on Saturday nights to determine match results.

There will be 5 rounds of footy over 5 Saturdays.  Then we can have a Grand Final between the two top teams in the 6th week (GF details later in this post). This keeps it quick and simple . . . and hopefully by then the real footy will be back.

I’ll even go to my local trophy store and get a trophy made up and send it to the Grand Final winner!

Round 1 will be 9th May Tatts draw 4047. I prefilled my team as team 1 (k1ooo-Collingwood) and the other teams are allocated according to when they signed up on my expressions of interest thread.

Teams are set:

Team 1 - k1ooo-collingwood

Team 2 - tuckcase1989-the bloods

Team 3 - domino-710-Dom’s-Demons

Team 4 - not_for_sale2020-the bloomers

Team 5 - kopenhagen5-tigers

Team 6 - davewill-raiders

Each Saturday there will be three matches with each team being designated as the home or away team according to the grid below (Home vs Away).  The results will be based on the numbers drawn in tattslotto.  This way the result is not subject to external manipulation.

Scoring for each match explained:

BLUE Scoring method (potential for low scoring):

- Home team scores the first three numbers drawn

- Away team scores the second three numbers drawn

- supplementary numbers are discarded

RED Scoring method (potential for higher scoring):

- Home team scores #1 + #3 + #5 + 1st Supplementary

- Away team scores #2 + #4 + #6 + 2nd Supplementary

GREEN Scoring method (more likely to result in ‘blowout’ scores):

- Home team scores all Even Numbers drawn including even supplementary numbers

- Away team scores all Odd Numbers drawn* including odd supplementary numbers

- *number 45 not included for fairness. If number 45 is drawn it is discarded

This will give varied scores and make for a good spread on the League Ladder. Drawn games can also happen.

The scoring method for each round of matches is shown by the coloured box around each match on the grid below.

Each team gets a mix of scoring methods during the season. It is not possible to ensure that everyone gets the exact same number of each scoring method. Two teams get just one blue scoring match, 2 teams get just one red scoring match and 2 teams get just one green scoring match.

Example scoring shown in spoiler

Example to explain the scoring for round 1 based on 25/04/2020 Tatts results:

- 2 vs 1 using BLUE scoring method

- tuckcase1989-the bloods vs k1ooo-collingwood

- for this example, tuckcase’s score is the total of the first three numbers drawn

- my score will be the second three numbers drawn

- supplementary numbers are discarded

For these numbers the results would be:

Blue scoring - Home 66 (17 + 15 + 34) Away 64 (23 + 38 + 3)

Red scoring - Home 120 (17 + 34 + 38 + 31) Away 59 (15+23+3+18)

Green scoring - Home 90 (34 + 38 + 18) Away 89 (17 + 15 + 23 + 3 + 31)

I will post results, League Ladder and next week’s matchups on Saturday night after the Tatts draw.

Grand Final details

- the official name for the Grand Final shall be LOCKDOWN2020

- LOCKDOWN2020 will be played between the top two teams on the ladder

- team % will be used if teams end up on same competition points

- LOCKDOWN2020 will be decided by applying all three scoring methods in Week 6.

- winner decided by team that wins best of 3 scorings

- in the event of a draw denying a majority win, the scores for all three scoring methods will be added together to find a winner

- in the event of all three scoring methods resulting in a draw the team that finished 1st during the regular season will be declared LOCKDOWN202P winner

May the best team win!

Spoiler
I have come up with this Fantasy League model all by myself.  It is not copyrighted. Anyone can use this model to run their own Fantasy League.

This fantasy football model can be used in other places such as work, home/family, neighbours etc.

All you need to do is print this Opening Post and get 6 ‘players’ to sign up.  Distribute print copies of this post so players know the rules. In a big family that could be mum, dad, kids and boyfriends/girlfriends.

If some players in your League have an eBay account you can direct them to this thread so they can check results each week.

If you can get your act in gear by next Saturday you wouldn’t even need to do anything to get match results other than to check back on this thread and check my detailed match result posts. You wouldn’t need to maintain a League Ladder as you just superimpose player number with the players Ladder in this post.

Seems a bit complicated for the average CFFC member. Or even the average CFC member.

Re: CS Fantasy Football League 2020 Round 1 preview

**Attention everyone**

Sorry for the late notice.

In light of Nathan Buckley's comments yesterday regarding the need for a "lead up" to matches and the need to have full-contact training there will be pre-season matches tonight

Results will be based on NSW Wednesday Lotto numbers.

Matches do not carry competition points as they are warm-up matches.

Matches are:

Blue scoring

Team 1 vs Team 2

k1ooo-collingwood vs tuckcase1989-the bloods

Red scoring

Team 3 vs Team 4

domino-710-Dom's-Demons vs not_for_sale2020-the bloomers

Green scoring

Team 5 vs Team 6

kopes-tigers vs davewil-raiders

Match results will be posted later tonight.

Good luck everybody.
