No golf cart ๐ She enjoyed the walking for exercise. And interestingly, she never played with others. Always alone. And only very late in the day on weekdays, when the course was the quietest and least busy. For her golf was a pleasant way to get away from it all. She was always impeccably dressed, and often self depricating about her game in a charming, humorous way. A great lady, to be sure ๐Im imagining Ms Hayworth played late in the day because the light was so beautiful and shadowy- not too bright...softer..lol..
Its funny, reading your description of her- shes sounds exactly as Ive always imagined- and very intelligent. As my father would have said 'they broke the mold after her'...maybe lurker is a little like her, I might have my work cut out for me, caddying from a different state!!haha
Well, I'm very flattered, but I think if you asked people who know me in RL, they may not agree

Nice hole, and the course has spectacular views,
Playing under an 18 handicap on that course is playing good golf,(what's it rated at?)
That looks wayyyyy more difficult then the courses I've played,

You would need local knowledge as it looks to be a "tricky" course with the water and clifftop greens,(IMHO it's not a course that you can play well on first time round)
The ACR on the Murray course is 72 and its 6095 metres long.
On the Lake course is rated 71 and its 5957 metres long,(it's the easier course as it's more open).
Must have seen that add but never took much notice as I hardly ever smoked Winfield,(it was mainly Escort back
then).
It's saved us $1000's and our health improved when we gave them away over ten years ago,

I've played both of those several times. The Murray is a beautiful course, I really like it.
The 14th hole (I think, dog leg right up toward the resort, water on the right and elevated green) on the Lake course gives me nightmares. I ALWAYS sacrifice one to the water gods there.
We have a week on the Murray every year with a group of friends. Play both Yarra's, Cobram, Tocumwal and Corowa. It's always a really good week.

The 13th is the par 5 that you're thinking off,(you wouldn't be the only one to have sacrificed a ball there),
They are all good courses and the weather is generally good/great here,
Let us know next time you come up and we can meet up,
Off to play 9 holers,

Kikuyu can be very tiring to walk on as it can become like walking on a sponge
Kikuyu patches and they tended to get out of hand in early Spring).
Ha ha! Yes on both counts ๐
And of course you can't really play pitch and run shots across it because of that sponginess. You have to learn to play lob and flop shots.
That Santa Anna Couch has a very attractive look.
