I have just bought a gorgeous white leather lounge suite and am getting a new kitchen, white polyurethane with black granite bench tops. Do you think I can transform this coffee table into something to go with the new modern decor, or should I just buy a new modern one?

I guess you would paint the legs black or white? But what you could put inside it is limitless or do you want to keep as a terrarium. I'd fill it up with old embossed books or other such retro wonders, but then I like old stuff.

Yes, I would paint it a high gloss white, but beyond that I have no idea, hence turning to CS for ideas ๐
Bring em on please....

I think you should spoil yourself and buy a new coffee table, we had a beautiful white leather lounge and went out and bought a medium to dark wooden coffee table (bali style) I think it is teak and it looked stunning against the white leather,
We no longer have the white leather lounge but still have the coffee table and it goes with everything.

That was my first thought too.
That or you could list it on eBay so someone could buy it and turn it into a fish tank! hehe
I personally don't see a way to modernize it apart from removing all panels of glass (apart from the top obviously) and painting the legs etc in a simple and solid colour. (white being my preference).
That or painting the glass with some cool, abstract modern design with some transparent glass paint and putting a lamp within it or something?
I guess your only limited by your imagination!

Retro being the new modern.....just remove the side glass, leave both glass shelves in situ and paint the uprights a colour.

Buy a new one. Nothing can save that one.
