Can anyone advise me please?   I have electricity in the house but no lights in the house are working.

It might be a fuse but I don't know anything about fuses.  The dog chewed the tv arial a bit - could that be the problem?

No not if it is the tv aerial. But make sure it's not a power cable that was chewed.

Power for the house is on seperate fuses to the lights.

If your fuse box has modern circuit breakers, one of them may have switched to off as a safety measure.

Check that all circuit breakers are to the on position.

Otherwise you may have a blown fuse and need to change the wire.

The power fuses will usually be a 15 or 20 amp fuse and the lights 10 amps.

Maybe you have a neighbor that can check and change it for you or sit with candles until bedtime and have it fixed in the morning. Smiley Happy

Thank you I found the problem - the "light" switch in the box was switched down. I turned it back on and lights were on. As I reached the front door there were sparks & a sound from a Light in the carport and the lights went out again. I had accidently switched the carport light to "on". This double light sensor in the carport  was damaged by me a couple of years ago when I hit it with a bat (playing with the dog)

Sounds good.

But might be an idea to have that light disconnected or fixed so it doesn't cause a fire if accidentally switched on again. Smiley Wink
