Can you be persuaded to vote differently?

Or does your bias and prejudice prevent you from making a careful consideration?

I'm definitely biased and have some prejudices against the right however I could be persuaded to vote differently if someone could show me how we would all be better off.

For one, I do agree with an increase in the GST, I do believe that a closer look into welfare is not a bad thing.

Can anyone convince me that the Government hasn't lied to the voting public? That is a big one for me.

I could care less what anyone calls me, I don't vote for individual personalities, doesn't matter - what is important is policy.

GST isn't on a lot of food items, health or education services.

Of course but it is an unfair tax, the best and fairest way to go is increased income tax.

The Henry Review went as far to acknowledge that a single-rate consumption tax can play no part in redistributing income to those who consume a greater proportion of their income โ€“ that is, typically households at the lower end of the income distribution โ€“ from those who consume less โ€” typically households at the higher end of the income distribution.

Thus, as a result, those who probably can least afford to burden an increase in the GST would be hit the hardest.

Yes, I think I fall into that basket as well. Especially employment, health & education policies.

We can't rely on policy though, can we?

When my local member is doing his job and doing it well, with policies in place, that is what makes my decision for me.

true. We are destined togo  round and round in circles hey?

No jobs......well real ones that is. Fudged employment figures appear to show that we have low unemployment-but I notice that the USA REAL unemployment figs are at 26%.....lots of food stamps over there, we hopefully are not going this way.....sooooo, if you suggest we apply income tax hikes, again, we are hitting on the higher income earners AND the employed Having said this I am CONCERNED that govt is trying to INCLUDE some of the previously excluded items for GST.....like food. Well maybe highly processed foods perhaps.....make people eat healthy might not be a bad idea.

Yes, I can be persuaded, I have voted for both main parties in the past, and the democrats. I really like my local member and have voted for her over the past few years.

The LNP had a perfect opportunity to get rid of that image of supporting the wealthy this time round but they've shown us that nothing has changed, it will be a long time before I ever vote for them again. I didn't vote for them in the last election because I can't stand abbott, hockey or bishop and they had no policies. Oddly I like my liberal state member and have voted for him over the past few years but I am changing my vote this year on bigger issues.

OP: Can you be persuaded to vote differently?

I think it would be better if Abbott honoured his pre-election promise to go to a Double Dissolution election if his reforms fail to get through. Unless, of course, he was lying when he said that that was what he would do.
