Our cat has taken to not respecting food boundaries at all. If we're eating the cat is involved. Food gets swiped off our plates, food batted out of our hands, cups licked.
I've taken to sending the kids outside to eat it's got that bad. What can I do to stop it?

The govt benefits sound attractive. I would much rather take your kids than your badly behaved cat.

I was thinking about getting a cat. Thanks for this thread, cause now I'm totally put off. Yuk, I couldn't cope if I found it eating off my plates. I have to be careful saying that too, cause last time I had this discussion someone was so offended that they reported 7 of my posts that were from over the previous 2 months :^O

I can email you some of the Mrs recipes and techniques
....guaranteed.....
the cat will only try them once:|
I have been at her to write a recipe book and have already come up with the working title "The Cremation Goddess" chapter one obviously entitled "Gourmet burning desires"
Her favourite this month appears to be "Scorched Earth T Bone"
(I think she uses a blast Furnace for this dish ?:|...... I am not 100% sure of cooking temp but I believe it is a not quite enough to liquefy a cast iron skillet bit more than enough to keep it glowing red)

Stop letting the cat rule... you have been fooled into thinking they can't be trained.
A light smack on the rump, "NO" and put in another room until meal finished.
Don't let it eat off the table or plates, that is just letting it dominate...
for goodness sake it's a a CAT...

Get a spray bottle, fill it with water and when the cat is doing something you dont want it to do, spray the water at the cat.
I have 2 cats, and if they are doing something they are not suppose to do, they only have to see me with the bottle, and they are off.
