Once he's left sit down and have a big cry, let it all out, drag your orange OK knickers on and tell yourself you can do this. Set yourself some achievable goals and enjoy your new life โ™ฅ

Well said, Freddie.:-x
And remember, Catty, the stages of 'letting go' are not progressive. You will jump from grief, to anger, to relief, to frustration, and back again - sometimes with bewildering rapidness, but as long as you recognise them for wha they are you will work thoough them and come out the other side, stronger, happier and a more complete person than you have ever been.
For now, like Freddie said it's just about one day -tomorow.

Cat doesn't know what he is capable of anymore...I bet before Christmas she would have said he would never have an affair with a married woman and leave Cat...

And Harro...Cat has expressed concern at what he might do to the cats in these threads...kicking them I think was the concern..And she has mentioned early on that she was frightened of his mood swings..

She is also concerned that if she is not there he may take things from the house that don't belong to him...her own words not anyone else's...

Never say never, and better to be over cautious than in despair of what you should have done.

Sorry to wreck your thread Cat but I wasn't as careful as I should have been when my ex left.....and lots of stuff went missing. And I would have said that he would never do anything like that...but he was vindictive when things didn't go his way and allow him to set up house with his new fling....

I'm another one who said my ex would "never do that".

My advice, don't give him a chance. Yu gave him complete and utter faith once and he ruined it, he'll do it again.

Hi Cat. I haven't posted on your thread before but I've been following it and wishing you well.

My best friend is going through a very similar thing right now and has also gained courage from reading some of the message left here for you.

I agree it's important not to get hysterical and run around hiding stuff etc, but I also think you obviously can't depend on how he will behave. After all, the fact that his behaviour blew your world apart shows that he has become a stranger.

You wouldn't want a stranger off the street to have your house key, so I too would be changing my locks in your situation, as my friend had to as well.

I hope things go as smoothly as possible and I wish you all the best for a wonderful start to your new life.
