There is nothing genuine about this man. He is only trying to worm his way back to you again. Having made a complete mess of his life he can see no other way out.

A few sorrys, a few crocodile tears, a few compliments about what a wonderful woman Ms. Cat is, and Ms. Cat will weaken. That is his plan, I bet.

Why is his family not helping him? Because they know him too well, is my guess.
