Daphne is lovely, it was my late mothers favourite flower, I love gardenias and roses as well.........

Enjoy doing your lawn.......I use to have a push mower, many years ago.

(((cyn))), I haven't got much to add to what the ladies have written up there, but I completely understand your disappointment and frustration. 😞

It sounds to me like you are doing a great job though, and as others have said he is the one missing out. Wait until she gets married and wants YOU to walk her up the aisle because you have always been there for her.

Being a single parent of teenagers is really hard isn't it?

Oh I love daphne, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't grow in the West, I don't even see it in the garden shops here. We can grow wonderful roses though, with no drainage problems and not many pests/diseases. Roses and gardenias are my absolute favourite.

I've grown boronia cat, but it has a short lifespan. It's great if you just treat it a bit like buying a bunch of flowers, but of course smells great for much longer.

I grew Gardenia's and Boronia at our old house before we moved 12 months ago. It took 3 years for my two Gardenia shrubs to thrive to perfection which happened just before we moved. *sigh* The Boronia, I planted 2 years ago and was going strong but it was my second plant having had to replace the original so I understand when you say they have short lifespans.

It was heartbreaking leaving my plants behind so now I'm growing Lavender and Thyme in pots.

I can't wait to have my own garden :-x

My daughter is phoning me tonight at 8pm from the UK :-x

Their time staying with her boyfriends parents is almost up and they'll start traveling again Friday. They are hiring a car and driving all around the south of France then taking the car to Spain and living there for a month.

Then off to New York!
