Braff that's fantastic news! Alicia is taking bigger steps to recovery. I'm so happy for you and your family. Can I ask how old Alicia is? When I visualise her I see her in her early 20's but is she in her teenager years?

I have no doubt the well wishes, prayers and healing energy of this thread has contributed at least a little to Alicia's recovery. This thread has such a good energy! :-x  Everyone that posts here are supportive and caring.

When I read how her Dad takes public transport every day .. it made me teary.

Braff your image of fear isn't weird. It conveys the feeling of shock and being paralysed. I understand 'fear' can be a positive emotion i.e it alerts us to danger, makes us take notice, can be a motivator to alleviate whatever it is we are afraid of, allows us to protect our loved ones  ...

But wouldn't it be wonderful not to have to carry that fear with us all the time? Some people are afraid of relaxing into their happiness because of a centuries old superstition that being "too happy' attracts the demons. Some people think if they're not 'ready' or on alert when disasters happen they'll perish.

:^O Shesh, sorry for my rambling. I'm really trying to understand fear because I'm preparing to transform mine.

It is very interesting to me Cat about your fear factor. Sometimes I am overwhelmed by it myself. Not sure what it is about as I go about my day to day occasionally I have a real anxiety of doing something. Usually when I'm about to go to work or go to the school to pick up little bloke.

I've had a great week. Went to work's staff meeting on Wednesday night and was given a lot of compliments on how well I was looking. Which is funny because I am the biggest I have ever been BUT I had just started back with my PT that morning. And then today I arrived at work and colleague and manager commented on my lovely curly hair and how well I looked.. Manager says, you have to stop straightening your hair. I had left it curly for a change. 🙂 So I'm feeling really good about myself ATM. I am soooooooo sore from another PT session yesterday that I can barely walk.

Jacks, how wonderful that your good work as been noticed AND acknowledged.  *claps hands*.

It is nice that they gave you personal compliments too.  Isn't it funny though, that you are saying that you are your biggest and yet they told you how well you were looking.

I find that the day I decide to get my haircut in the next week or so is when people start telling me how nice my hair is. ?:|

MsCat, Alicia is a young looking 30.

I have some wonderful news on her. 😄

It has been a very busy time for Alicia. Over the last 3 or so days she has come along in leaps and bounds.

I will cut to the chase and leave out the lead up steps forward.

She now has the mouth tube removed. She can't eat or talk yet but is having physio and speech pathology. The brain drain is out and I believe that she still has nose prongs in with the oxygen.

The Doctors are thrilled with her progress and hopefully she will be transferred out of Intensive Care during the week. There is still a very long road ahead, but it would seem as if the major hurdles have been jumped.
Thank you everyone for your support. It will be 3 weeks tomorrow since it happened.

MsCat, I have my orange knickers ready for Tuesday (Toosdee panties) and I will have them washed in time for the big anniversary of Freedom Day on the 18th 😉

Jacks I love curly hair ('cept my own, mines just a frizz with a curl). You are like the little energiser bunny. Your 'set-point'  is hopeful and positive, meaning you keep bouncing back. :-x

Mrs Braff in only 3 weeks  Alicia has made huge steps to recovery. I know she has a long road ahead of her but the wonderful thing is there is time .. time to recover and live the life every young woman deserves to live. She is always in my thoughts and prayers.

Darling little Ava is growing. Sally seems a little down 😞 but that's understandable given all she's been through. We are still waiting to send our Care Package because DD and J want to buy more to add to the parcel for M.  There are little koala's nestled in Euclyptus leaves (soft toy), Aussie bibs from me, a lovely embriodered  "AVA" (in orange!) from dtrh, chocolate for  J's mum, shearers soap for J's dad who loves all things Aussie, natural soaps for mama and baby, a Peruvian statue of a mama and baby (from a friend of DD who had originally bought it for her mama but when she heard of Sally, she wanted to add it to the package, CD's from Uncle J who wants Ava's first CD to be 'cool'... :^O

Remember OK's for  Feb 14th and OK's for Feb 19th  Freedom Day.
