Her tweets about ANZAC day were disgusting...

Since you brought Alan Jones into the discussion - I really dont pay much attention to what he says but from what I've read, he has been involved in many legal cases brought against him and this brings me to yet another topic ie the Australian Commandos who were involved in killing Afghan civilians. (I know Jones caused some kind of controversy there) I remember we had a lengthy discussion about that case. Whatever happened to those Aussie soldiers, do you remember? I cant find anything current.

no idea what happened. but in my view it isn't the soldiers who are ultimately responsible. those responsible will never face a court. bush-obama are untouchable.

Found it: (on some socialist website)
Judge Advocate Brigadier Ian Westwood agreed with the defence counsel that the charges ought to be thrown out because they “did not disclose service offences.” Westwood said there was no specific wording in the Defence Force Discipline Act indicating that the soldiers had a duty of care for non-combatants. As a result, he concluded, they could not be prosecuted for manslaughter. The judge added that troops were compelled on “pain of penalty” to carry out attacks on the enemy, and they could not simply choose not to participate in military operations. hmmm . unfortunately that makes some sense. the perception that 'someone has to pay ' is false in a theatre of war (or police action ) its often false in the civvy world too.
the families would receive some small financial compensation though for what its worth.

You took it to mean you.... my post was BP'd along with another one, what you said should still be on here. Any defence of deveney is abhorrant no matter what context she puts it.
And for those who brought the Anzacs in on this debased troll's comments should look to themselves trying to justify her comments with brave man who lost their lives defending you.

Catherine Deveny is a nobody in this world lightningdance....don't let her ignorant comments bother you.

True, but some on here defended her debased comments & her denigration of brave men now dead.. They know who they are but apparently one is not allowed to respond to them.
These brave soldiers, men & women, lost their lives so we could be a free sosciety but apparently not on here.

For the love of [whatever] lightningdance, please stop trying to prove the point!

One of the reasons I raised this issue is because Deveny was one of the people that went all over the media sprouting how good Gillard's rant on misogyny was and how we are all against Gillard because she is a woman...
This is a classic example of how wrong she is..... she thinks people don't like her because she is a female comedian... facts are people don't like her because she is not funny but crude and offensive...it has nothing to do with the fact she is a woman...
