My cefito laundry sink is going rusty after 18 months it has rust pits in it .Stainless steel doesn't rust is this true or not ?

I think it can, if not looked after. Google stainless steel and all will be revealed.

Stainless steel can pit if you leave something in contact with it that is corrosive.

I once left some lemon peel in the sink for some time by mistake and when I discovered it the stainless steel was turning black.   It took many applications of SS renovator to repair the damage but a lesson learned.
