The new government has a solution to the false expectations it raised with the promise to stop the boats it seems. simple. censor the arrival data by stopping the previous practice of the immigration dept releasing media alerts when a boat turns up or asks for assistance. this is the simplest and most effective way of hiding the true level of success or otherwise. censorship .. is the 'freedom of the press' that conservative catchcry merely another slogan they spruik without actually believing in it for one moment ?

no, labor had the Dept release them to the media as they came. hiding them can only work short-term anyway, when it spills out it will make them look worse if anything. and the figures will get out.

Yes I agree with Eloi too. Australians should be angry that Abbott is being so dishonest and underhanded, not yet a week into his leadership.
Thinking people would have been forewarned by his support of the mal brough corruption.,,
i absolutely agree with this.
Anyone who still trusts him to be transparent and honest - good luck with that.
