Charged over racist rant on train

She was angry that two kids did not get up and give her a seat, So she called the police to report it. Then things got a bit crazy as others started, imo, adding fuel to the fire.

She has been charged with using offensive language/

In no way do i condone her behavior, but i also dont condone the behaviou of the guy filming it who stirred it up even more by calling her a rude name.

I am looking at this from her point of view. She does have one, even if it is the wrong one. I am certainly not excusing what she did, poor self control.

No job, can't find one. Over 50 so her chances of employment are probably zero. I am guessing not much education which won't help.

A lonely woman who resorts to the internet to find someone. According to her she was ripped off ( not sure about that one). A bitter woman who probably can't see a way forward. In short one of life's losers.

This ridiculous women abused a mother and her young children to the point they were crying and she still continued.

She also turned her attention to a young lady and racially abused her.

At no point is abusing, bullying, racially abusing and intimidating other passengers okay..... ever.

Her behavour was indeed trashy, low rent and disgusting.

I for one, am glad she was booked.

If he hadn't done that, then she would have got away with it.

The police were waiting at the station for her because she called them. She told them she had been abused, they took down her details and that was the end of it. They thought SHE was the one on the recieving end.

I absolutely agree with anyone prepared to film this kind of behaviour in public. Particularly as we are seeing more and more of it.

What she said to that asian lady was unforgivable. But at least she was an adult. 

What she did and said to those little kids was horrifying. I know that if it were my kids they would would have been traumatised.

I'm not disagreeing with any of that. I just think if he had footage of someone behaving illegally he should have taken it to the authorities, or backed her up when she reported it. Not post onto YouTube.

it's unfortunate that in Melbourne trains are crowded and I reckon poorly designed with not many seats, I suspect Sydney is the same it's something we all have to put up with you can't go around abusing people because they've got a seat and you haven't. you hang onto the rail and wait for someone to get off so you can grab one.  I wonder how long it will be before they are pushing us on with a stick as they do in Japan?.

i feel sorry for the people she abused, so she had a bad day. it wasn't their fault

Those kids were frightened and shouldn't've been subjected to that tirade of abuse.  they did the polite thing and gave up their seats to 2 elderly ladies. i hope they learnt from their experience that bullies don't win in the end.

Well I was pretty shocked, ashamed and horrified to see a lady that age acting that way. You think she would know better.

She must live under a rock.

Turns out the young bloke on the project last night and our young in general are to be applauded.

I can understand that she was tired and stressed.

I can't understand how she would lose it like that, it was disgusting, and I didn't even watch the video in full.

I think the kids should have given up their seat for her, regardless.

i think most are pretty good too ttt. mine were brought up to do it, not sure what they'd do if somerone tried to abuse them out of their seats though

I have taught my kids to give up seats for adults.

I think it about resorting to racial insults.

My children wouldn't do it, that's where I am applauding the young. Perhaps not manners but acceptance and  tolerance.

If the children stood up for the horrible cow then she would be sitting next to their mother,

Would you want her next to you.

How dare she talk to children like that and the Asian lady, no excuse, every one has bad days but are not child abusers or racists because of it.
