Charged over racist rant on train

She was angry that two kids did not get up and give her a seat, So she called the police to report it. Then things got a bit crazy as others started, imo, adding fuel to the fire.

She has been charged with using offensive language/

In no way do i condone her behavior, but i also dont condone the behaviou of the guy filming it who stirred it up even more by calling her a rude name.

The kids didnt give up the seat to her, but they did give up their seats to 2 elderly people, who would have needed the seat more than that woman did.

Perhaps. Perhaps not.

The children she levelled the abuse at were the children the grandmother was sitting with. The younger child was sitting in the window seat and the 10 year old was sitting on grandmothers lap. There were other empty seats on the bus but she zeroed in on this trio.

As a regular public transport user, I expect teenage children to give up their seats for older people. And I expect mobile young adults to give up their seats for adults AND mothers and children.

But I don't expect young children to stand up and be pushed through a crowded bus away from mum and dad. I expect young kids (and these WERE young ones) to stay close to their carers.

There is no excuse for that sort of behaviour especially the racial abuse. If the majority of people out in public can behave in a socially acceptable manner then the remainder can too.

There is no way the Asian lady should have been subjected to that sort of racial abuse in this day & age.

Doubt there was any truth in her being scammed $100 000 by an internet man friend either.

People, whether celebs or ordinary people, have got to realise they can be captured on mobile cameras (or video) anytime, any place.
