Opposition Leader Bill Shorten threw a number of animal-related insults at Abbott government ministers, including his description of Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss as "wombolic" – a reference to The Wombles, a children's television show involving pointy-nosed, furry creatures that live in burrows.
Mr Shorten also had to withdraw a line about the government being ''cheese eating surrender monkeys'' on Australian jobs.

Oh my! Is he doing a Gillardesque Temper Tantrum?
I always thought ''cheese eating surrender monkeys'' was a reference to the French?

No mention of the names the govt call the opposition?
They all erupt in laughter when one calls anyone on opposition side silly names, including the speaker.

This is what happens when labor is under pressure and under the hammer, they rely on infantile speech writers to impart their vast knoweledge of cartoons and hollywood movies to put a dim witted point across.
They get caught out every time.
Poor Bill (Showbag) Shorten, he really is pathetic and doesn't realise he has now insulted the French with a putrid slur.
They truly are pathetic and think everybody is as stupid as they are.
The cheese eating surrender monkeys was a filthy slur on the French but I guess he thought it only came from the Simpsons so he was pretty safe there.
It was amusing to watch Bill trying to convince us that he's more than an ambition driven cut out.
Good luck with that Bill

The most shrill person in the house at the moment has got to be Hockey. His voice gets more high pitched as the week progresses.
Bill's just boring and uninspiring.
PS, thanks for the link 😄
