Children in 1st class

A  father has written a nasty piece about a disgruntled passenger in first class that was seated next to his toddler daughter.

Is he for real?  I would have been furious to have paid for a first class airline ticket and then be forced into baby sitting a two year old.

I think the airline was wrong and the father is a nong.  What do you think?

What a mixed up story......If true the complainer should have been moved. Don't think we are hearing the real story.

I really wouldn't like to sit next to kids either and I'm a mum and nanna.Smiley Very Happy

However that is the joys of travelling......Last year we travelled with our son, dil and the grandchildren, 6 1/2 hr flights, dil and I were sick as dogs but still managed to keep the kids quiet and amused and not hanging over other seats. An older lady actually caught up with us when we got of the plane to congratulate the kids on their behaviour. They were 4 and under 2 at the time. We did buy the under 2 her own seat because no way were we having her on our laps all the way.

We are.. however, I have no reason to not believe what the dad says.

Makes no difference to me whether the child was playing up or not though.

We are given no expectation that a seat in first class will mean children can't be in there.

Honestly you never know who is going to sit next to you, you just have to take it as it comes, can't say I've ever had anyone horrible next to me.

I would have thought that in 1st class you would get better treatment because it costs so much more.  I didn't notice that he was upgraded.

I happen to think that toddlers and little kids don't really belong in 1st class.  Terrible aren't I? angel4.gif

I've never travelled first class but if I did I wouldn't expect a nearly 2 year old in her mothers lap next to me.  A baby maybe.

The father wasn't there and stated he would lie to get his way, then later decided it was a hypothetical. I see no reason to believe him.

I've never flown 1st class either Em.  To me it would be like going to the ritziest restaurant in town knowing that even if you only had the chef's salad it was going to cost you a pretty penny.  Would you want to be seated next to a strangers two year old?

No, especially as there is a plane load of people apparently longing to sit next to a 2 year old as long as she is cute. Cat Very Happy

If I was flying first class I wouldn't want a child next to me either J*oono, I don't much like them being behind me either, I flew from Manchester to Dubai the other year with a spoiled brat in the seat behind me kicking me all the way! The fact that I was sat under a very large man didn't help either! I really think if he wanted to share my seat he should have had to pay 1/2 my fare!

Has anyone been upgraded to 1st class? Hubby and I were once on a flight from HK to London, I felt a total total fraud Woman LOL I felt I didn't belong and I didn't. Mind you the extra room was great.

I have never flown first class although I wish the flight from Male to Singapore had been

And that's the only time I've ever been OS and I never will again, I might get trapped inside the plane, I don't care if it falls out of the sky as long as I'm not trapped in it, free falling would be fine
