Childrens Books

Can anyone recommend any good books for a 3yr old?

She still loves the green sheep, that was a hit

Re: Childrens Books

My daughter loved Pamela Allen's books when she was little. I can't remember titles.

And "Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig" and "Frog Is Frightened" were kids favourite bedtime stories when they were little.

Possum Magic

That book about the caterpiller (can't remember its name...)

I bought Possum Magic for my little British baby girl in the UK. Her mum LOVED it! Although she did ask "what on earth is a lamington?"

Re: Childrens Books

When my kids were little there was a great selection of kids books by Babette Cole. The one I still have here is Dr Dog. It is a lot of fun to read aloud to a child, with some great pictures for them to look at. [basically teaches about hygiene in a fun way that makes kids laugh].

When kids are a bit older and ready for the 'birds and the bees talk' she has written a wonderful book called "Mummy Laid an Egg: Or, Where do babies come from?'

Maisy's Big Flap Book
by Lucy Cousins

With their big bold colours, focus on basic concepts and familiar cast of characters, Lucy Cousins' Maisy books are big hits with toddlers and preschoolers. This interactive lift-the-flap book lets kids explore colours, numbers and counting, shapes and opposites.

Re: Childrens Books

Clair there are a set of books by Trace Maloney that my grandson Jack learnt word for word at the age of 3 these books also come with a cd that he listens to in his room...he loves them & I must admit I enjoy reading them too..some of the titles are,

things I like about myself,

when I`m angry,

when I`m sad

when I`m happy

they are all character building:-)I think you can buy them at the PO.

There are so many wonderful childrens books around but I think little one`s enjoy when certain sentences are repeated right thru the book & not too many words either..I hope you know what I mean:-)
