Christmas Access

Young friend has court ordered access for his daughter tomorrow from 2pm to 7pm.

His Ex has just sent in a text that reads.

"I don't know why it is so important that your family see her tomorrow they should be grateful if I let them see her on Boxing day"

well she is a stupid selfish cow, its not about how she feels, its about her daughter.
she should be grateful the dad's family want to be in her life and she should be doing everything she can to give her daughter time to be loved and nurtured by them.

I think everyone should just allow the girl to have a nice Christmas day without being shunted around.  What is wrong with seeing her on Boxing Day?

Keep it out of the court's hands is the best way to go.

When i we a child I remember Christmas days with very fond memories as  we opened our presents and then had a very special breakfast and off to church and then too my mothers parents and all the uncles, aunties and cousins ant the Christmas lunch Nanna cooked.  Later in the afternoon we went to my fathers sisters place with his relatives and another Christmas dinner.

Boxing day was spent resting and reading the new books we got as presents.

I agree but it isn't always possible.  Especially when one parent treats the child like their own possession, denying the other parent any contact. .

Well, that is going to mess up the mum's family Xmas, isn't it?   Funny though that she cannot understand why it is important for him too.   Ideally the whole family should be together = both parents and assorted grandparents and other relies.  But obviously people who need to go to court to work out how to manage their parenting, are not capable of rational discussion, and the poor kid is stuck in the middle.

And some parents tell lies about access just to big note themselves. Mediation is a joke....walk out with an agreement just to have one parent immediately go against it. You can have one parent that has to explain to heartbroken children why the other parent again has failed to turn up or doesn't want to see them despite the stories told
