we put up a few lights out the front but not to the extent where go into competition
also we would not be game to have things on the ground in the front yard you could guarantee it would not be there in the morning stolen and you may find them busted up down the street.

We were really lucky...................I think in over 15 years we only had a few things stolen.
But we did have an upset a few Christmases ago with some stupid people ringing up and making all sorts of accustions and trouble over the lights................enough to make us reconsider if it was all worth it.

we always have icicle lights hanging around the verandah and on the carport, when the kids were younger I had one of those deer in the garden and lights on the windows. I have some fairy lights in a tree but the tree grew and I kind of lost them in there ![]()
Belinda, if you don't mind me asking, where did you find your solar fairy lights? and are they coloured ones?, I'd like to put them on some trees in the garden but so far I've only found clear light icicle ones

Aldi had heaps of solar and non solar lights a couple of weeks ago Debra, don't know if they'd have any now though. Picked up a couple of buckets of the colour changing ones.
I did see them in a Bunnings cat alogue last week, might be worth a look?
We have some butterfly ones that have been on the pool fence for a couple of years now, I love all that stuff lol Bought some colour changing balls that float in the pool, too. The lights look really good here as it's so dark at night, not having street lights or houses around.

ah thanks Soul we have both an Aldi and a Bunnings nearby. I might try Masters too. I've really only looked in The Reject shop so far. I like the idea of the solar ones and I'd leave them in the trees all year. I will go searching tomorrow hopefully
