Christmas cakes

My DIL has agreed that I can make the Chrissy cake this year for family dinner.
How soon should I start, and how long does it need to stand. There will be sherry or brandy in it.

What is seafoam/divinity candy Goblins?

Seafoam_Candy-1.jpg

This is what we called Sea Foam.

This is from the web but is the same as my mothers.

She always dropped it from a spoon.

If the humidity was high it would stop it from setting up.

Thus, "spoon candy".  Smiley Happy

I make those pecan pies ash. They are so easy to make and always go down a treat. They certainly fit my little effort, big impact philosophy ๐Ÿ™‚

I love my mums Christmas cake but none of my family do so I never get any these days. It's not worth making one just for me and I don't like the bought ones ๐Ÿ˜ž

I'm not sure if everyone calls it that.

To us honey comb was what we called sponge candy.

I think  the receipe posted is for sponge candy.

I have never made it so am not sure.

Sea Foam looked like the picture.

I maybe have them mixed up.

Spoiler
But what do I know, my mother called chocolate drops "sheep t*ts".     Smiley Very Happy
