Cilla Black has passed away at the age of 72 apparently from natural causes.
May she Rest In Peace.

Very sad, I loved all of Cilla's songs, she was always a genuine person, she will be sadly missed.

Despite having made a few bob over the decades, she still had the common touch. Down-to-earth, no airs-and-graces, and a people person. Also a talented vocalist - despite some saying that she was too 'nasally'. Well everyone from Liverpool is nasal, that's how they speak.
Very sad news. I still haven't got over Dusty Springfield, and now this.

I guess we can't all go on forever like Mick Jagger.
RIP Cilla you had your 15 mins of fame and we loved your music.

I think it was a bit more than 15 minutes, Icy
She had a number of hit songs and
had been a successful TV presenter for years.
Just because we didn't get the shows out here,
doesn't mean she disappeared as a one-hit wonder

On a time scale of say...from Jesus Christ... it was even less.
That's not to say I didn't enjoy her music and am not sad to hear of her passing.

Her 'Blind Date' was screened on Saturday nights from 30th November 1985, to the 31st May 2003, while 'Surprise, Surprise' aired from the 6th of May 1984, until the 26th December 2001. The latter was brought back in 2012 with Holly Willoughby as host, since Cilla Black wasn't able to do so, due to her hearing loss and arthiritis.
Tribute posted on the 'Cavern' (Mathew St) Liverpool, entrance.
