Prior to your election as the 28th Prime Minister of Australia you promised that you would not hesitate to call a double dissolution election if the carbon tax repeal was blocked by the current senate.
So here is another chance to keep a promise.....
Double dissolution trigger provided by Senate rejection of bill to abolish CEFC
Clean Energy Finance Corporation could also survive new Senate, which begins on 1 July
The Abbott government has its first double dissolution trigger – and is being dared to call an election – after the Senate rejected its legislation to abolish the Clean Energy Finance Corporation for a second time.
And the $10bn “green bank” could possibly also survive the new Senate, which begins on 1 July, because the government cannot be sure it will secure the necessary six out of eight crossbench votes to get rid of it.
The Palmer United party’s position is unclear, the Motoring Enthusiast party says it “appears to be a good thing”, independent senator Nick Xenophon supports its retention and DLP senator John Madigan abstained from Wednesday’s vote to abolish it.
The fact that it now has a double dissolution trigger does not mean the Abbott government is likely to use it, particularly when it is in an election-losing position in opinion polls.

hockey is stamping his feet and having a sook as usual....crying about the nonexistent "mandate"...there is a joke in that word but I better not...
Greens Senator Scott Ludlam threw down the challenge in the Senate on Wednesday, calling on Prime Minister Tony Abbott to call an early election on climate change policy.
''Prime Minister Abbott if you really believe that this is absolute bleep and that the Clean Energy Act is going to wipe Whyalla off the map, how’s that working out?'' he said.

Perhaps Abbott has a memory, unlike some!
Kevin Rudd handed double-dissolution trigger as Senate rejects Emissions Trading Scheme again
Dec 2009
JULIA Gillard has given Opposition Leader Tony Abbott one last chance to pass Labor's emissions scheme, warning the Government will consider an election.
She said the Government did not intend to call an early poll, even though Labor now had a trigger for a double-dissolution election.
Further to Ms Gillard's comments, the Senate decision does give Mr Rudd the option of calling a double dissolution election to push his ETS through.
Mr Rudd, who is today flying back to Australia from the US, has so far promised to serve his full term rather than use the trigger.
Look up the term "pragmatism"

I really hate to have disappoint you monman12 but the ALP are no longer in government, I know it can be hard to move on sometimes and sometimes we like to dwell in the past but it's time to let it go, it's 2014 - abbott is the PM - embarrassing as it is.
