Comments for the nature thread.

I really like the garden posted by Kopenhagen. My new backyard is a blank slate I would love to find the time to make something like that. It reminds me of a Japanese garden. If I cound get the tree laying on its side in Dsk's pic...it'd be great!

The Moeraki boulders posted by Am*3...bit of a mystery those things. Millions of years ago the oceans were red due to a high iron content. Stromatolites (sort of the early version of coral reefs) formed all over the planet producing oxygen creating a rust in the ocean which formed the iron deposites we dig up today and changed it's colour to what it is now.

Mentioned here at 16:37 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xsn3wpVAcjk

It's possible those boulders are Stromatolites. Maybe your drier hotter weather caused the smoother shape than elsewhere.

What a pity it has taken a month for the truth to emerge when one line and a smooth transition would have averted all the friction and not kept people in the dark and guessing what happened.

With that, I will now bow out

I thought this was meant to be a fun thread, no matter who started it!

FGS, we all have lives, I am not on the boards for weeks sometimes, and often I pop in and read and don't post - and I would be pretty bloody pist off if someone accused me of abandoning a thread because I chose to live in the RL for a while.

And I would be mortified to think I would have to explain my absense to this board.

**bleep** - this is NOT important, it is FUN - it is cyberspace -

my daughter was in a car accident yesteray, and while I was racing to get to her, I do apologise, but I never thought to let all of the ebay posters know that I may not be here for a while - I had more important (real) things on my mind at the time.

Re: Comments for the nature thread.

Pimpy's photo challenge appears to have been a new, fun addition to community and  a fresh sense of enjoyment for many.

I haven't read most of this thread but noticed there were some disagreements.

Lets not forget these may stem from misunderstandings and I am sure we are all on the same page and words can sometimes be misconstrued leading to problems that need not exist.

SO, back to the photos thread.

Jimmy, that is the Japanese garden in Tivoli gardens, Copenhagen and the squirrel was a regular visitor to my grandmothers garden. As well there were regular red foxes in her garden in Denmark.

I didn't kiss the Blarney Stone, didn't fancy laying down and putting head back over a gap.
