Completely Inane Poll On Which Way To Put On A Lock

We always put a small lock on our garage roller door for extra security....it goes on the bar near the actual keyhole.

I always place the hook part over the bar. Hubby reckons I'm awkward and puts it the other way...with the hook coming from underneath. I find I have to turn the key back to front to unlock it this way. 

So which way seems 'normal' to you guys. 

Only giving 2 options here, as I want a definite decision...no fence sitting.
