We are now the richest people on the planet. Officially loaded. According to the Credit Suisse 2013 Global Wealth Report, released this week, our median wealth - $233,504 - is higher than any other country. (Granted, for those pedants who actually prefer to measure average wealth, Switzerland beats us - but we still come second! - with $425, 603.)

Hello Mr Hockey??? Where are you??
Time to acknowledge the past 4 years of lies and slander me thinks...
(But I suspect he will lay very low in case someone asks him a tricky question about the economy and he accidently puts his foot in it by saying something positive about it)

Joe is out there spouting out of date Aust growth figures.
9/10
Joe Hockey's L-plates are there for all to see
First the new Prime Minister gaffes big time over a free trade agreement with China with his “whatever we can get” kowtow.
Now the new Treasurer is promoting OLD Australian growth figures from the International Monetary Fund as fresh bad news for the economy. The L plates are being worn large this spring...........
.........Maybe Joe not only didn't believe treasury's figures, maybe he didn't read them.
..........Time to flick the switch to trying to talk the economy up, Joe, or to provide some balanced comments, instead of talking it down.

Gosh thought by the heading you were congratulating Australia for electing a responsible government after 6 years of mess and confusion, I'm wrong but what a shame.

I said 6 years, of course there was some good ( I am not one eyed like you) but generally it was all down hill with a few hills every now and then to make us hope they were on the right track, sadly didn't happen.

I guess you think that Credit Suisse 2013 Global Wealth Report has just made it up? The fact is that Australians do not realise how good they had it for the past 6 years. We are spoiled brats who expect & demand more and more; well, I am sure soon we will be told to shut up by TA, as he makes sure his wealthy mates make more and more, and ordinary people get less and less.

If I remember rightly, Australia was also cited as having one of the lowest gaps between rich and poor - which to my mind is an even more praiseworthy achievement.
