Corona Virus Panic Buying

As shoppers prepare for a coronavirus pandemic there’s one item people can’t buy enough of – toilet paper.

While many are stocking up on pantry staples such as pasta and flour, a new photo taken inside a Costco store shows this is the one product people are most afraid of running out.

“Can someone please tell me WHY these idiots are panic buying all the toilet paper ???” the caption reads.

But they’re not alone. Scores of shoppers have been sharing on social media how toilet roll sections at their supermarkets have been decimated.

The hysteria comes despite Prime Minister Scott Morrison telling people today not to panic buy.

“Just before coming into this press conference earlier today, I spoke to both Coles and Woolworths, just to get an update on their arrangements, and I appreciate their response and the steps they are taking to assure people and their own customers,” he said.

“They would send the same message I am sending you today. It is important that people just go about their business and their normal processes in a calm manner.

They had spoken to me about the arrangements they have in place around their supply lines and things like this, but I would just urge people to be going about their business in the normal way when it comes to those matters.”

Leading Australian toilet paper manufacturers have also told news.com.au there is no need to panic as we won’t be running out of rolls anytime soon.

Woman LOL

Good to see our PM has a sense of humour.

But really! Toilet paper?

Re: Corona Virus Panic Buying

A scuffle broke out at a Woolworths in Chullora this morning with patrons coming to blows over toilet paper, forcing employees to intervene. Bankstown police attended the scene and no charges have been laid

This is just how crazy it is getting.

Well " grasshopper" one has to carefully study the Chinese experience , have an awareness of their way of thinking as expressed by Officials , and read between the lines , then determine what maybe applicable locally ralative to current policy and then take appropriate feasiable measures for one's situation.

Would have thought peeps would already own a packet   .....  if not chemists, department stores, convenience stores  etc etc would sell 'em   ...... sheese I live in bush 'n I can buy them.

Both Safeway and IGA had no toilet paper or sanitizers yesterday.

Chemist here put a full lot of hand sanitizers on the front shelf  this morning and it was all gone two hours

later when I went to pick up my script as well as their lot of toilet paper that's generally dearer than the shops.

So it's still happening and people that need the stuff wont be able to get it as others have ten times more

then they need.Angry head bang.gif

It's not the tourists buying it but the locals so will be interesting over the weekend when the holiday makers

are all here and the town swells with the extra people.

Locals don't shop in the early mornings when they are up as it becomes near impossible to get a park and

water and toilet paper is generally a good seller during any holiday period.shok.gif

I supposed any local paper-bark trees have been ring barked by now....
