Nobody really knows anything much about this virus, but how long it stays in the environment has been establishe at 4 - 5 days with 9 days in only one test in Germany.  It takes at least 2 weeks to get here from China, so I am not concerned.  I am expecting some clothing soon; will wash it as soon as it comes out of the package, and hope for nice hot day to dry it in the sun.

It is a coronavirus.

Other coronaviruses include SARS, influenza.

There is enough experience with those to get a rough idea.

I would take the precautions I would for flu.

I suggest you stay inside for the rest of your life. Definitely don't buy anything that needs to be posted.

noting the Wuhan vs rest of China and the spread in the isolated ship Diamond Princess - does seem to become very concerning once a certain critical mass of infections within a high host density environment manifests.

I was referring to any extant precedent involving coronaviruses, with media, being transmitted through the mail.

Anthrax or botulism doesn't count. Different bugs.
