Thiose who be still on Newstart but who are starting or short time operating a declarable viable business as defined by the ATO.

One is on the books with Centrelink ( with reporting obligations ) for 3 months even after starting a full time job or business enterprise regardless of qualifying fortnightly for dole money

Is of interest to me as I will shortly be in this dual universe

i was being sarcastic.

giving cash to welfair recipiants would be a shock to the liberal senses.

as wayne swan put it so well

"Do you trust a man who has spent 12 years saying stimulus packages don’t work to be able to deliver one?"

i'm not convinced australia is not 'on its feet'

if the masses are told to 'stay home' then how will we 'get back on our feet'?

if we arnt out and about spending then giving businesses money to stay open wont do much.

there is a huge difference between this crisis and the global financial crisis.

people were out spending with the GFC.

and industry was doing business, china was buying our stuff.

if country after country close their borders who are we selling our stuff to?

In Australia , is not likely the masses will be told to stay home , unless a case is detected and so a workplace maybe quarantine , like what has happened with some schools and as a precaution some sporting events being spectator unattended.

What should be additionally cost assisted is virus killer devices for workplaces , public areas and homes and also personal coronavirus test kits which are rumoured to be available soon. - workplaces should have non-invasive test facilities for all personnel

If we do these things we might be also able to reduce common flu cold and flu cases and so improve productivity

Unlike the bleak northern hemisphere countries is still not winter time here - so we have time to prepare and enhance defenses
