Totally unacceptable when you consider that if they SHOULD"VE been stopped from entering.

Similar to the returning overseas travelers that are were they are supposed to be for a two week period and now

complain because they thought they were going to get 5 star treatment:

The government are doing a lot to keep people in jobs, and keep essential workers, working.

They have already said, they were concerned when schools closed down, the essential workers (like nurses), would have

to stay home and take care of the children.

Now, thanks to the free child care, they can work, and keep their jobs,  while their children are being looked after in child-care centres.

Normal costs for childcare is very expensive. The children would normally be at school, and now they aren't. They are being home-schooled mostly.

But there are some who are more appreciated of the subsidies than others:

So who's home-schooling them?

Who's home-schooling them?

Well, I guess the ones who can , including ones who are now un-employed because of the virus,

I don't home-school. The teachers at the college are still working on on-line programs for Term 2, which will be projected through 'Google Classroom. Then the student and teachers communicate on-line.

Chief Medical Officer Brendan Murphy 'increasingly confident' Australia can stay on top of coronavirus

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-04-05/chief-medical-officer-brendan-murphy-confident-coronavirus/12...

With Easter approaching, Professor Murphy urged Australians to avoid the temptation to travel or get together with friends and family to celebrate.

"Easter is going to be very different this year," he said.

"We're asking you to stay with your family, in your residence."

Re home-schooling.

So the parents who have been forced out of their jobs thanks to government restrictions are having to school their kids who are forced to stay home because of school closures, via online programs conducted by teachers who have lost their day jobs because ppl are now having go teach their own kids, but child care centres are now free, despite all warnings that that ppl should stay in their homes and look after their own children.

If you are a nurse you have to work, if you are a carer you have to work, so would be hard for some.

it makes perfect sense to me at this time Icy

But they do! Every child has a mother and a father! No question! They might not all live together, but every child has a set of parents.

So if both parents are working and not affected by the shutdowns, why the free childcare?

I'm sure it makes perfect senst to you, Deb...Woman Wink

So no child has a deceased parent? Really?
