There are many of us here who could testify to the generosity of posters on CS at times when a member has been in need. However I cannot recall (until today) anyone feeling the need to embarrass the recipient (and shame themselves) by bragging about their donation.

sometimes i havent noticed that ive had a pm for a few days here.
The little envelope that appears when you have a PM does not stand out very well
You can (set in preferences?) get an email every time you get a msg. I do that, I see the email, but don't notice the little envelopes up the top.

I can't understand the mentality of posting regularly to bait. Then too complain about the replies/reactions to such posts is just strange.

The 'other party' has got nothing to answer for either.

"The other party concerned could have informed you all that I had made my first contact PM BEFORE posting any comment on that other thread, which would have put closure to that part of things, but they chose to remain totally silent regarding that fact while carrying on with their 'Oh poor me' act."
the 'other party' saw the post on the thread long before he saw the PM (which was sent through the eBay messages). It sometimes takes a while for ebay to forward the email PLUS I didn't see that email until some time AFTER the posts.
I have however looked at the time the eBay message was sent, as recorded in my messages = 11:44.
The post is gone now, but the first response to that post was at: 11:48 so we can assume that the original post was some time before that? When I do not know.
The 'poor me act' - was neither looking for sympathy NOR an 'act'. It was purely to find information about the problem my wife is suffering with. I received much help and consolation from the many replies and thank you all for that.

She had her line put in today and while I was speaking to her, they came to take her for her liver scan, so our conversation was cut short. She seems a little better ... well, she's back to biting 😉 anyway which is encouraging.
We are going up to see her tomorrow and our eldest is going on Sunday.
Does anyone know if they will send her home with the line in??

A clearly blatant attempt to circumvent a locked thread by beginning another thread to continue a part of the subject matter from that locked thread on via this thread..
NB. "feeling the need to embarrass the recipient"
And I suppose you don't believe this thread doesn't continue to do such a thing if that's what you truly believe?
I feel no shame for telling the true facts, in fact I celebrate having done so.
