The civil case against former federal MP Craig Thomson has been sent to mediation.
Federal Court Justice Christopher Jessup made the order during a hearing in Melbourne on Friday.
The Fair Work Commission (FWC) and Mr Thomson were ordered to attend mediation and report back to the court some time after October 21.
The FWC is alleging the former Labor MP misused union funds when he was the Health Services Union national secretary between 2002 and 2007.

its all fallen apart. we'll see how HSU liberal flunkie and HR nicholls society speaker kathy jackson gets on shall we ?
or if abbott protege (cathys hubby) and FWA vice president Lawler ever has to explain his fiddling in HSU elections (which he failed at btw)

Smacks of Union/Labor protecting their own at the expense of the members. Why am I not surprised?
They'll probably be pleased to hear he did not rip off the half a million some shonky journos accused him of stealing.
Even at the peak of the accusations the amount pales in comparison to what Abbott has rorted in travel expenses.

poddster, it is being noted how any talk of media misrepresation of our former Government was laughed and jeered at
now we have a Government blaming our media and claiming they have done just that in the past .
Unfortunately they are not being honest nor accountable as can be seen in a thread I started ...and lying and blaming our media doesn't instill trust .Most importantly even if some don't see the truth in those claims... it may give Australians a reason to doubt our media and ALL that they have told us.
There was such a focuss on lies ....are we supposed to stop wanting honesty rather than lies ?

Thanks TGSE, that's what it was.
Poddster, I think what you were seeing it as ...would be the same as a Government/MP/PM being asked about a their own expenses and coming out with 'but but he/she did this ' as an answer .

About time the industrial relations scene was scrutinized
Hmm, how does this look?
1. As those of you who have followed the case will be aware, the case against Thomson is based on two things:
2.The word of disgraced union turncoat Kathy Jackson.
The Fair Work Australia investigation that took place while Kathy Jacksonโs then fiancรฉ Michael Lawler was its Vice President and was later torn asunder by KPMG after an independent report into it was commissioned.
