Seriously so sick of brand new stuff breaking down because its inferior quality to years gone by. I made the mistake of buying a well known brand name HE top loader, huge mistake. It's never washed well and not even two years old takes 2 hours, sometimes longer to do a load, skips washing sometimes and spinning other times. Worst of all I get a better result if I hand wash 'sigh'. Maybe I should get the stick out and start beating the washing lol!!!! Anyway got a repair man out and it won't even do a diagnostic, gets stuck on cycles and even if the power on the machine is turned off still senses for quite a while after. The only way to reset is take the plug out of the power point for an extended time.
This machine is supposed to be middle to higher end and was not cheap. I trusted its name brand to find it is no longer made in the country it once was, but in china. I also made the mistake of trusting a brand name I've had for years and not researching. I recently did some research and it was extremely depressing, worst machine I have ever heard of with thousands of complaints.
So why do they get away with selling this rubbish? Vent over, I feel better you probably don't lol!

Hi Bella, they shouldn't be able to get away with selling rubbish. You are covered by Consumer Guarantee which states the goods must be fit for their purpose. The products must also function for a reasonable time after purchase without breaking down. Considering it was a reputable brand and not cheap, it is reasonable to expect the machine to last longer than 2 years without breaking down. I would contact Fair Trading before you decide on spending money on repairs.

It's got to be either Fisher & Paykel or LG. Both horrible takeover branding.

I love my LG fridge... best buy ever and even thoguh I needed two minor fixes the problems were solved pretty fast...
I always say that if you are not happy within 6 months make sure you make use of your warranty. They factor in 20 fail rate in all appliances these days because they are mostly made with electronic boards that are a dime a dozen...
Sorry your machine does not work well for you... that really sucks.

Didnt you also get a dodgy oven?

I shouldn't bag brand names but it starts with a W however it is not their lower end product. Thanks guys I think its just frustrating and really wanted to vent you know how annoying these things are! I have managed to get it repaired under warranty except the repairman atm is abit stumped as to why it won't respond to a diagnostic.
Scary thing is the preformance on this machine is worse than any other machine I have ever owned. I think its because its a sensor machine with low water levels and no agitator. If they replace it, it will still be a poor quality wash but without the other issues.
I am amazed at the level of complaints on this product both here and in the US. I've never ever seen such poor reviews on any product.
I should have purchased a Miele... I miss my old washing machine!

Apologies for the spelling up there... In years gone by stuff lasted 10 years plus. It seems things are made to last about 3 -5 yrs these days.
