May I point out to you that this is a discussion FORUM. The object of a forum is to debate and discuss opposing points of view. ๐

I don't follow you or anyone around.
I reply to comments if I think they are worthy of comment or correct them if they contain erroneous information or exaggerated information.
The object of a forum is to debate, discuss and disseminate information, which I do.
I am also mindful, as everyone should be, that any comment I may make is likely to attract a response, be it negative or positive, in the case of negative comments, I am, as everyone should be, prepared to defend my view.

I read only a couple of days ago about a homeless man in the US who returned a bag of US$42,000.00 and a valet. Someone wanted to help give this honest man a new start and posted on Crowd Funding. Whithin a few days there were $74,000.00 donated by total strangers, and it's all legal and above board.
I read Crowd Funding and find most cases genuine, but that is my opinion only. I find that if I want to contribute a few dollars, it is just like giving a donation to a charity. I don't expect any returns.
I used to support World Vision until I learned that 90cents of every dollar is used for administration and only 10 cents to help the poor. When one of World Visions CEOs absconded with millions of dollars, I stopped supporting the organisation.
So, who is scamming whom?

What a great idea this is. It does remind me a lot of the Kiva loans.

Thanks everyone for both the info and discussion, even when it did move away from the original question. There seems to be as many pros as cons on this one, and I guess I will have to make up my own mind based on what I have learnt here.
