Cryptic Stuff

While it was done some years ago I see, I thought I would try a cryptic crossword-like thread for fun and to try and boost a little more interest here. I made up the below question for anyone interested in such a challenge. I thought the first person to get it correct might come up with the next question. A clue though - if you copy one from a newspaper or magazine etc., the answer can often be found on the internet. I can explain the answer for anyone who asks. 🙂

I think I need another clue. 
I bought myself a cryptic crossword book that helps you understand the clues (in a VERY brief description) ...... and I’ve tried them all, on this current clue plus the hint. 😭😭😭

I’m just about ready to ‘pass’. Lol.

Also......

from the clues I kinda feel some of the answer is in the word pantomimes but includes the letters EEG. 
however.......

then you added a hint that indicated to me (via my very brief descriptive new book 😄) that the answer might have been an anagram of great ideas or great hints..... but I can’t get a 10 letter word, only 9.  

Im stumped. I have absolutely no idea. But that being said, I don’t know what I’m talking about hahah.... so knowing that the experts here, haven’t answered it yet either, gives me some hope 🙏

I’m now at the stage where I’m just throwing out 10 letter words without any reason.... lol.
