While it was done some years ago I see, I thought I would try a cryptic crossword-like thread for fun and to try and boost a little more interest here. I made up the below question for anyone interested in such a challenge. I thought the first person to get it correct might come up with the next question. A clue though - if you copy one from a newspaper or magazine etc., the answer can often be found on the internet. I can explain the answer for anyone who asks. ๐
The prisoner at the cave would not stand for the electrically charged droplets of water.

Good grief - the thread is running as it should - with a bit of fun thrown in.
2 previous comments in 11 pages - neither having a go at the cryptic.
No-one was losing track of the question asked - simply because it hadn't been solved.
So - yes - settle down.

Come on mate..... can we please keep this thread a happy and peaceful one.
I am to blame for the space between clues & answers because I asked for an explanation to She-Elโs last solved clue because I just couldnโt see the connection.. which was caught up in the middle of Countessโs new posted clue.
You then made a comment re: king Lear and asked if it was a clue, or /and what is the word count. A fair question. But it did read as if you were now a bit lost re which clue was current so Kat was merely bringing forward the most current clue to the most current page. No harm done..... and did not warrant your snappy reply IMO, and even I had a WOW ๐ฏ moment when I read your response..... both of them.
Can we all please just get back to the game and I will try to keep my questions off board and I will now ask them in a pm for clarification...... so as not to disrupt the flow anymore.
cheers mate. ((((hugs)))) ๐โค๏ธ๐โค๏ธ

To keep the thread a happy one - was all I was asking.
If someone wants to ask a question - they should be free to do so - which can only add to the thread.
As for MY snappy replies - Yeah, I'm out. lol

Jane, please keep asking any questions on the thread.
That way we can all learn from the answers.
You weren't the only one in the conversation, and it was all a bit of fun.
Obviously there's some kind of history behind those comments, but hopefully this thread can stay a friendly, fun and happy place.

I have to confess I was just about to repost the countess's clue myself when Kat beat me to it.
And I think it's your turn to test our little grey cells, Not For sale.

Yes wide-world-of-stamps, correct.
"The old heater was made from a slip and a kiss."
The old heater - handgun
was made from a slip - blunder
and a kiss - buss
Blunderbuss - an obsolete 18th C pistol.
