Culling Humanity

What group would you start with?

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

I actually did think it through. As I do all things.

I had a shortlist. On the face of it, yes, there are a few 'group's I think could go on the list.

But in the end I decided that no-one has the right to remove the life another being (no matter how evil they are perceived at the time) for a variety of different reasons looked at from different angles.

Take paedophiles. Do we cull paedophiles after they commit a crime? How would it help the victims? How does justice get served when the perpetrator is blissfully dead and out of their own miserable existence? Perhaps it would be useful to "cull" them before they commit a crime as then there are no consequences for anyone else. But our chances of pinpoiting a paedophile before their crime is a little remote isn't it?

You call it sport, most call it hunting for food, meat, skin.

Very little hunting is done for sport.

Really? When was the last time a hunter wore the skin of an animal it killed?

Hunting is for plain old dumbnuts.

Re: Culling Humanity

And then you have those who might put some on the list but not able to carry it out and the targeted might reverse the situation and the targeted become the hunters and those who nominated them the hunted.

Isn't that so Joono ?

Re: Culling Humanity

Sports hunters could be hunted for sport. Repeat.

i think she is talking about trophy hunters, those hunting for their own selfish need to prove to themselves and like minded counterparts that they are amazing because they needlessly took the life of an animal for no reason other than a photo opportunity and bragging rights.

It happens a lot.

Re: Culling Humanity

Those who quite clearly, and by their own admission, hunt an animal purely as a trophy. Seems pretty simple.

Anyone who hunts for food or clothing, I would not classify as hunting for sport.

Re: Culling Humanity

How many hunters make clothes (for themselves) out of the skins of animal they kill? Would that be very common now?

I thought they would just sell them if they can.

Re: Culling Humanity

If you research it at bit further, you will find that a lot of trophy animals are shot, not primarily for trophy but because they are going to get culled anyway, as the population needs to decrease and as a result the licence is sold off to hunters.
Elephants are a good example. Lions also.
All the meat from those animals goes to the locals, or more like they come to it.

Re: Culling Humanity

I dont want any thing to die, animal, insect, human.

Dying is not some nice thing it is **bleep**, you lay next to some one or some thing and have to watch it take its last breath.

It will haunt you for ever.

Dont give me all this **bleep** about hunting to eat and wearing the skins, we are not bloody cave men.

Go to Mcds.

Hunters want to kill for the thrill.

If I was a awful person I may say hope you trip over a branch and fall on your gun as it goes off, thank goodness I am not like that.
