I want to buy a good cutlery set, what would constitute a good set to you?

Re: Cutlery Set

the ice cream was too much, eh?

just take custard then, easier to carry.

and the best way to test out the knives and forks is that chocolate cutting game. Myers will have a few blocks of chocolate, grab those and a plate and head to the games section for some dice.

grab your OH and a few passers by on your way through - good unbiased feedback..'

now, open the chocolate, put it on the plate

give each person a set of cutlery (you don't want stranger fork spit.)

sit around the plate with the chocolate on it

maybe do this in the furniture section on one of their white leather couches

take turns to roll the dice

each time you get a 6, that means you get to take your knife and fork to the chocolate block and cut off a square and eat it (remember to test out the stabbiness of the fork) You keep going till the next person gets a 6 on the dice. then your turn is over.

then collate the subjective feedback and decide if that set syuits you.

if not, choose another set and repeat the above steps

Re: Cutlery Set

Well I think I might end up going to KMart and buying a set of plastic knives and forks, much easier option.

Re: Cutlery Set

psst - I'll use 7 kg of chocolate so far today...

done the choc pate's, choc sauces, bout to make the choc baskets and fillagrees and dip the profiteroles, just waiting fior the custard to cool to fill the profiteroles before I dip em.

done the choc gift boxes, (kids sticking together as we speak), and finished the truffles to put in em..

just gotta paint the pastry cases then I think I'm done with the chocolate

i bet it'd taste better if I had flash cutlery....

btw, doing the soaky thing now - will report back - bet the kids will be stoked if it really works and they don't have to gumption em LOL (will I still need to use the silver polish after the soaky thing?)

and those milk glass bowls arrived and they're lovely, wish there were more of em
