Cyclist In Touble Over Nicole Kidman Tumble

NICOLE Kidman says she was shaken up after being knocked down by a cyclist on a New York sidewalk.

The Australian actress had been attending the Calvin Klein show for New York Fashion Week and was on her way back to the Carlyle Hotel when she was struck.

TMZ reported the cyclist was a photographer.

Photos posted by TMZ show Kidman lifting herself back onto her feet with the help of an aide and putting her shoes back on.

She reportedly had no visible injuries.

Kidman later said she was OK, but added: “I'm up, I'm walking around, but I was shaken.”

The New York Police Department says a 19-year-old bicyclist was issued three summonses for riding a bike on the sidewalk, riding a bike with no helmet and reckless endangerment.

According to one news source he was riding on the footpath attempting to snap a photo.

JMO but it shouldn't matter who she is,he is a menace & I hope he IS charged with reckless endangerment or whatever the US call it.

And how was he able to get close enough to knock her over. Wouldn't you think someone who knowingly rides a bike illegally on a busy city street would proceed with caution?

Who took the pictures? I wasn't there so I have no idea, I would assume there would have been plenty of happy snappers about the Hotel waiting for any celeb to walk in or out.

I didn't see a camera on the pap who was lying on the footpath, yep he was a dill to cause the accident.

I agree, it could have been a lot worse, Nic could have broken her fingernail or the heel on her shoe, but she was up and on her way shortly after.

Yes, some do (they tip off the photographers where they are going to be appearing  at certain times etc) but a lot don't.

I think  Prince William & Prince  Harry ( when they were younger at  least and maybe some other Royals too) had an agreement with the UK press to agree to  a certain number of photo shoots a year, and they would be left alone the rest of the time.

icy - re the photos of Nicole falling over - there is a video clip of the incident in the link below. Lots of photographers standing around there -- waiting for stars to come out/walk by.
