Roughly what sort of cage do you have i.e. wooden? How many chooks & what/how much do you feed them? I searched chook houses on ebay, do you suggest a good one?
Klarry what is needed to fox proof a chook house? We were thinking wire underneath and perhaps sleepers too? Are snakes & rats a problem?
Any information would be good ๐

can you post us a pic of your coop when it is all set up clair...I would love to see what you have done..
I would love to wire in in a section of under our house to have as a chook house..but we have a naugty fox that comes into our backyard..(plus our neighbours on that side are planks)
X-(
I think I shall just have to wait till I am on my own & can move out a couple of kms' into the countryside..

Yeah hopefully tomorrow DDU, we just got the coop from bunnings
Hey is your duck in with your chooks?
No, it's by itself at the moment but it will be in with the chooks when the new coop is built. We freshen the water twice daily so the duck won't muck it up too much.

Hold the duck under your arm with its neck pointing at your feet, then with your other hand grab it by the neck and give ita firm but gentle squeeze.:^O
I can't picture it .. but will give it a try tomorrow ๐
wish me luck .. otherwise I may be eating roast duck!

Laws must've changed over the years because growing up, our next door neighbours in suburbia had a rooster.
We also had a incinerator can't do that anymore.

lol I wouldn't mind a rooster, we've got no immediate neighbours.

Well I know a very pretty Australorp rooster you can have if you like .. he's very active and potent as everything in the incubator seems to have him as a daddy ...
