DDU can I ask you about your chooks? You do have chooks don't you?
Roughly what sort of cage do you have i.e. wooden? How many chooks & what/how much do you feed them? I searched chook houses on ebay, do you suggest a good one?


Klarry what is needed to fox proof a chook house? We were thinking wire underneath and perhaps sleepers too? Are snakes & rats a problem?


Any information would be good 🙂

My chicken is still not good, I have to take her back to the bird man to look after but I can't get her there for a couple of days 😞

Yeah she's just egg bound, one egg popped out yesterday. I have bought sunflower seeds for them. Actually I just had a thought, I may be able to get her to the guy tomorrow with a bit of luck

If there is any risk that there is still bits of egg up there, a warm salty water bath may help?

Have you read BackYard Poulty? They have lots of good help on this type of stuff if you can ignore the holier than thou attitudes.

in other news, one of the girls I raised from a week old chick laid her first egg tonight 😄

She's up and about today, if I am not working the whole day I wil take her to the guy. Interesting you say about worms freddie, the guy wormed them all and there was a big dead worm in this particular chooks poop. I have been giving them garlic on bread since then and they eat it all up.

No a whole egg came out DDU when it popped out after the oil, I haven't read backyard poultry only in the beginning to search what types of chooks to get.

I'm glad to see she is up and about and hopefully if I get a chance today I can take her to the guy. I bought a whole bag of sunflower seeds yesterday even though they have sunflower seeds in the layers blend.

That's great about the first egg panda, I'm waiting for my little white one I "raised" kinda to lay 😄
