DIY Clothing Alterations

I'm after some advice.

I bought two pairs of action back overalls for the OH.  They are a tiny bit too small and I need to lengthen the straps by about 2 or 3 inches somehow.  I'm not the greatest on a sewing maching but I have a go lol

Does anyone have any idea of the best way I could lenghten the straps.  I'm gunna go into spotlight today and ask there but I just thought maybe someone here may have some pointers, or if there is a product out there that can be fitted somehow to extend the straps.

Re -DIY repairs---old bloke-live on my own.

Sick of turning up 200ml of jeans legs and jamming them inside after putting them on.

Cut a pair of at the right length...easy.

After a couple of washes they flared a bit.

A grandie spotted tham and said....cool ..grandpa---got the seal of approval,,,,,,,,lol......Richo.

Re: DIY Clothing Alterations

Yeah Narelle, I always used to do all my sewing by hand.  Going through uni I used to buy retro dresses from the op shop and turn them into skirts (did all the sewing by hand)  used to take me ages lol But you do get quicker at it.  One of my main problems is I have no confidence with scissors, my cutting is really bad.  I'm not all that confident on the machine either... But I am too tight to pay a tailor lol

LOL Richo thats classic.
