The jury can only base their decision on actual evidence and they don't determine the sentence. I wonder why his attempted murder of a small boy is not taken into account? or will it be? Sickening to think he may be released as a 55 yo..

I also don't believe it is about any life being more valuable but I suppose change has to start somewhere.

15 years for a boy and 25 years for a police officer?   Does not compute.

It was only recently that the change was made for the murder of a police officer. You have to actually have people lobby for change.

Re: Daniel Morcombe jury retires

NSW has 25 yr sentence for murder of a child under 18 as well as for murder of police and emergency service persons.

Justice Atkinson has adjourned the Court and will hand down her sentence "soon".

Re: Daniel Morcombe jury retires

Maybe people miss anothers 'point' because they don't express it properly in the first place.

Lets hope the sentence is a long one. That person will always be a danger in the community imo.
