This is a hard one to have an opinion on because we all want to be moralistic and not just go around killing "people" because they aren't perfect.

For me though, I honestly think this would be one of the few circumstances where I would abort and try again.  Not just because of the risk of all the possible health problems but because as a parent it must be so hard to have to care for a DS child (not to say that before too long you wouldn't just get used to it, but it just seems like a perfectly valid reason to abort imho.

so essentially are you saying that if a parent is incapable of caring for a child, any child regardless of health, it just seems like a perfectly valid reason to abort?

You constantly pick and twist words bobby my boy......is it because you have no actual thought process of your own, or because you like a fight ??

Secondhand was essentially saying nothing of the sort - reading glasses Bob.

Edited : Stepford asked: What do you think my chances are in this one Bob? .. No chance, see above comment re twisting. LOL

Everyone does understand that many parents told that their baby is DS actually give birth to a healthy non DS baby?

The test is not 100% fool proof.

Boy it's nice to be understood.

Oh, and I honestly can't help editing, I am darned if I do and darned if I don't.  Hate to see something wrong if I can still fix.  I just can't help it.  I can't quit. I won't.  Woman Very Happy

There are dozens of other syndromes in foetuses which are aborted.  Where do you draw the line?

But full disclosure, that was just one of the meanings by my question.  There were three.

Touchy subject I've found.  I've paid some prices for my beliefs.

Nibble that.

Greencat, don't be concerned.  Bob just likes to play Geoffrey Robertson's hypotheticals.

Steppefjord, I don't know if it is the same in the US but some people here have signatures turned off in their settings and they can't see your Reagan siggie.

Which test was that?  There are different test, and if people decide they cannot cope with DS child and want abortion, they would not have just the 1st, non invasive and less accurate one.  They would have another tests to confirm the diagnoses.

Also it depends on the examiner.  There are a few who never get it wrong.  But these are not available to most people.
