I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

And can you tell me where those Howard surpluses went poddy?Schools, health, infrastructure? What did they do with the proceeds from the sale of Telstra and our gold reserves? Please enlighten me.

Woman LOLHoward was the most profligate PM in our history. Howard together with costello were utterley useless economic managers, in any sense of the term...........

From about the 20th-ranked economy in 1982, Australia had risen by 1996 to sixth in the world โ€” behind only the United Arab Emirates, Norway, Singapore, Japan and the United States.

Thatโ€™s measured by the variables: income, growth, wealth, jobs, inflation, interest rates, taxes, economic freedom and credit ratings.

By 2007, however, at the end of the wasted Howard years, Australia had slipped back in the rankings to 10th place.

According to a Treasury report in 2008, between 2004 and 2007, the mining boom and a robust economy added $334 billion in windfall gains to the budget surplus. Of this, the Howard Government spent, or gave away in tax cuts, $314 billion, or 94 per cent.

maybe you should read those facts

went from 20th to a high of 6th before slipping back to 10th..........so a total of 10 places higher?

2008 treasury report compiled by a labor government.......got that

I think the point was from 6th to 10th, down 4 places under Howard.

Btw. Treasury reports are compiled by Treasury, not political parties.

Treasury analysis is independent of the government of the day.
Oh and by the way,an IMF study found Australia most needlessly wasteful spending happend during the Howard years.First in 2003,then in 2006-2007(must've been bribe time again) IMF Jan of Feb 2013.

He was told to shut up last night on Q&A, a washed up loser who needs to go away.

He's certainly no "Labor Hero", no shining accomplishments. He sent NSW broke, built nothing, ran down electricity infrastructure and locked up thousands of square kilometers of land for his  own aggrandisement as his swan song.

The greatest freeloader ever seen, he and his wife went on an 18 month world jaunt, demanded cultural events be sought out for them, demanded embassy cars and drivers (he can't drive) and all the while achieved nothing at all.

He has no shame and no integrity but then he's a Labor man isn't he, that's the quality demanded if you want to make it in the corrupt Labor machine.

Locked up thousands of kms of land."

You must mean protecting the environment.Maybe he should give Greg Hunt some lessons. What a disgraceful environment minister he is.I suspect criminal activity (bribes, donations, call them what you will) has come into play. What a low corrupt government this is.For the sake of this country, call an election now,Tony.

its as good a suggestion as any. all they really need to do is lay low and watch tone self -destruct .. the polls indicate so far so good.

australians are essentially centrist, abbotts right wing agenda is too much for them to swallow. he's too arrogant , and not bright enough to know when he's gone too far .. which he has already.
