Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-04-20/disability-pensioners-may-be-reassessed-kevin-andrews/5400598

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

I see obfuscation (and large C&P,s) are still the chosen defence when posts with easily demonstrated exaggerations are exposed. I think the 6 children becoming 6000 has been the best so far P007, but the VIP jet fuel consumption comment nonsense (what is VIP jet fuel?) : $ 50,000 per hour in VIP jet fuel consumption? when the actual cruising consumption cost is around $3,658 per hour is  a good try.

"It is only prudent never to place complete confidence in that by which we have even once been deceived." :  Translation: when in the past one has posted rubbish/nonsense any and all subsequent posts will be judged as being of the same ilk.

Desperate times as big business starts spruiking Hockey's hated Budget

You know that things are pretty desperate in the Coalition bunker when even their corporate sponsors come down from their ivory towers to soil their silky smooth hands to spruik unpopular measures.

But so it came to pass last night, when the grey, owlish features of softly spoken banker Michael Chaney appeared on ABC Lateline to, ostensibly, discuss Treasurer Joe Hockey's latest whine that big business should be doing more to sell his unfair and unloved Budget.

Chaney doesn't need to speak loud to be heard, of course — as chair of the National Australia Bank and Woodside Petroleum, he simply has the quiet, condescending air of a man used to being instantly deferred to by all. And he was not to be disappointed in this regard by interviewer Emma Alberici — who handled Chaney with the kid gloves she seems to reserve for VIPs and plutocrats.

Chaney duly sold Hockey's budget using the typical conservative approach or distortion, deflection, oversight, and egregious errors of fact.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

If you were current P007 you might have remembered my recent post , especially as you dished out a "Kudos" for it:

"It would seem SN that your knowledge of aircraft operations is on a par with those of P007!

$ 50,000 per hour in VIP jet fuel is absolute nonsense."

I see  that you are not an IT aficionado either P007 judging by the C&P article about Malkin and Spambludger.

Excerpts:

Malkin, is unemployed (???) He could use his own "App"

He will (write the App) by starting a crowd-funded project to build an Internet application (just an idea not a reality, nothing new here)

Funds raised will be used to keep Mr Malkin fed and housed while he writes the program.

At close of business yesterday Spambludger had raised $253.

That would cover a tent and a few Big Macs

Don't you know about crowd funding?

crowd funding is used for all sorts of purposes and if enough people feel inclined he might well earn enough to keep himself employed on this project for a few months.

It says a lot that you get so much pleasuse and amusement at the expense of other, less privileged, people.

KAJ: " crowd funding is used for all sorts of purposes and if enough people feel inclined he might well earn enough to keep himself employed on this project for a few months.

Really, gosh?  For a few months?  If you read the article you would have noticed that the deadline is October 3.

It says a lot that you get so much pleasuse and amusement at the expense of other, less privileged, people.  People being whom exactly KAJ?

It says a lot that you do not appreciate context, or read previous posts, otherwise you might have realised the comments (and images) were for P007's  spruiking a politically acceptable (what else) and populist article about an idea that, in my opinion will amount to nothing,  but give the pink flag set temporary relief from their lingering PPTSD and C&P elbow.

The crowd funding deadline has little to do with him supporting himself for a few months. That would depend entirely on how much he actually raises during the campaign. When did he start?

Btw, the amount has already risen to $1614
