As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

ref Foreign Investment Review Board 'FIRB'.....goings on or rather FAILING to enforce regs:
Sack Wilson. Sack the board.
Investigate if Wilson has personally benefited from failing to commence a prosecution in 4yrs despite being surrounded by illegality.
A job for our new Federal ICAC.

Amanda Vanstone SMH - doing what if's
That contrast invites us all to speculate what would happen if a similar complaint as was made against Shorten were made against Abbott.
I think I know what would happen: The handbag hit squad would be out there fanning the fires with every bit of hatred they could muster.
at her comment (not the subject).

P007: "Closing Australian based manufacturing instead of encouraging it"
Perhaps they are emulating the AMWU which by refusing to let Toyota workers have a vote as to their working agreements (future), resulted in Toyota "Closing Australian based manufacturing". 6 months later the union legal action (court finding) was declared invalid, not that it helped the now to be jobless workers as Toyota, shortly after the union's ridiculous action, announced that it was ceasing manufacturing in Australia
"Something is going to go 'POP'and our Australian economy crash IMO
..........in the very near future. "
Instead of making open ended assertions (without any merit ("IMO"), provide some economics (of your own??) to support your dire predictions, a month/window would suffice if that is a problem.
The much foretelling of doom, TRBAG also believed in scientific nonsense and catastrophes, he even forecast the "crash of our stock exchange" with a time period. Sadly (for him) the ASX never crashed, much to his chagrin.
"I do believe that the term "Future Medical Research Fund' is pharmaceutical Company 'speak' for
'Our Bank Account Cheers!'"
If you bothered to think and research, you might consider that the FMRF would produce the opposite reaction from pharmaceutical companies, because some of the research that they conduct, and which they recover by way of increased charges for their products, will now be undertaken by Australian R&D and academic institutions.
Anyway, I await the timing of the forecast economy weasel "POP" (not that I expect one).

Only the interest on the money is planned for research funding despite tone telling us the money would all go to the fund ($5 dollars of it) ''the fund'' is a fraud. The money collected is marked for general revenue (a tax ) .

The Liberal's manifesto:
IF THERE'S A FIGHT, JOIN IT.
If it is a success, get rid of it.
If it makes the rich happier, go for it.
If it looks like it's going to fail, lie about it..
If it pollutes, encourage it.
If it wins votes, suck for it.
If it is a good idea, oppose it.
If it is to raise funds, beg for it.
If it is a bad scheme, promote it.
If it is a promise, break it.
If it turns into a protest, trample it.
If people complain, ignore it.
If people use it, tax it.
If we want to win a second term, pray for it.
