As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

"That IPO was way overpriced "
Actually D9275 the price of T1 was $3.30 and the first year dividends resulted in a 6% return (with FF) The subsequent sale was somewhat overpriced though.
Regardless of the above, the T1 was vastly oversubscribed by experts and the general public, so no, it was not overpriced.

it seems some LNP members are not too happy about the age of entitlement being over
Federal Coalition MPs have raised questions in a party room meeting today about plans to axe a taxpayer-funded travel entitlement for retired politicians.
The Government pledged in the budget to axe the life gold pass scheme, which allows former MPs some travel on the public purse.
It followed a decision in 2011 by the former Labor Government to close the scheme for new MPs and cut the number of annual return trips from 25 to 10

Low-paid Queensland workers' wages slipping below inflation
The wages of Queensland's lowest paid public servants and council workers are falling behind inflation.
Last month 25,000 of the state government's low-paid public servants and council workers quietly received a "safety net" increase up to $32 a week courtesy of the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission.
It comes as a record number of Queensland homes – 25,305 - were disconnected from their electricity supplier in 2013-14 because they could not pay the electricity bill.
Government will not answer questions about public service wages
Fairfax Media reported on Tuesday about 25,000 of Queensland's lowest-paid public servants received a 3 per cent increase to their minimum wage "safety net".
That wage increase was granted by the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission in August and increases began from September 1.
That increase is separate from the 2.2 per cent rise awarded through the annual enterprise bargaining agreement.
Depending on how low their award wage had become, these public servants received a portion of a maximum $22.30 a week pay rise.
