Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Depends what newspapers or media you look at or get mail updates of selected news.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

By reading widely across many countries and getting email updates of news, you get both sides of the story very quickly.

I don't normally takes sides but the last gaza war, it was clearly evident that the media was biased in it's reporting

- pro hamas - anti Israel. I think part of this was Israel was so successful at shooting down Qassam rockets that the

usual photo opportunities of damaged Civilain buildings in Israel were not there, nor were the Israel civilian casualties

yet the other side had plenty because of how they fought the war.

US Media is interesting to read - you have a lot of prominent and powerful Jews in the US although they don't get

it all their own way.

It also helps understanding military weapons and what they can and can't do because you know whether someone is pulling the wool over the eyes. ie if Israel meant to hit something, they hit it, accuracy within 10 ft for most Israeli weapons nowadays, excluding Qassam rockets !!!

Everyone has a bias, you just need to know what it is before you read whatever they publish. That way you can determine how many pinches of salt you need to take with it !!! LOL

UN is one of the most biased, they have an agenda to try to achieve.

They also didn't exactly cover themselves in glory with the last war, did they ? Kind of like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar LOL

Ah yes, the UN overseas, nothing happens until the brand new 4WD's are there, committee and never ending meetings. Not to mentioned the spread of disease by UN people themselves.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

Disgusting info that was related to me.....saw pics/photos too. .......Food(grains etc)/clothing relief was locked up and held in huge hanger, nothing was released to those that needed it-in 9 months. 4WDs, brand new arrived with 'UN' painted on side doors - designated to be used in 'the field'......but no, the signage on vehicles was quickly spray painted over - 'UN' just visible still through the overspray and then the newly appointed execs took these vehicles for private use to take their families out and about.......I could say more.......this UN mob need to be exposed for the real 'front' that they are imo.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

Another one who sees the UN for what it is. Heard similar stories from people who work with them OS.

The disease spreading I was referring to was Haiti where UN Soldiers from Nepal brought it in with them and it has now killed over 9000 in many countries and over 8000 Haitians. Not only that, the UN tried desperately to cover up, hinder any investigations until it relented a year or so later.

Then you have the UN and UN Peacekeepers who about as useless as a dry rag on a hot day. They send them into places to keep the peace but tell them they can't use their weapons to not only do what they are their to do but even defend themselves, then end result being numerous deaths of UN peace keepers. It's like a featherweight boxer being put in the ring with a heavy weight boxer.

Sometimes the only way to get the message across is giving the naughty boys a bloody nose but the peace lovers in the UN don't like anyone getting killed, as long as it's the enemy.

IMHO they have become a bloated, over reaching organisation that needs a severe trim, both in people and in aims / what it does and stop trying to push certain agendas on everyone.

And of course the "we are the UN, we are always right" attitude gets up people's noses.
