Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

How you can call this govt morally repugnant when you support a group that fires on non military targets, civilians is mind boggling.

Labor was sick in encouraging the boats that meant people drowned in their thousands.
Thats OK Labor did that and thus it makes it OK for these people to die in the world of the left the greens and Sarah 2 dads

No โ€˜Coal for Christmasโ€™ as Whitehaven Coal disruptions continue

MAULES CREEK, 24 December 2014: A man has suspended himself from a rail bridge crossing the Namoi River blocking a coal train being loaded at Whitehaven Coalโ€™s controversial Maules Creek mine from leaving the site. The train blocked at the Maules Creek mine is believed to be the first containment of coal from the site after a test train โ€“ twice disrupted by activists โ€“ left the site last week. The rail bridge also services Idemitsu Resourceโ€™s Boggabri Coal mine.

Ben Solity, a 31 year old logistics consultant, cited deep concerns about the impact the mine will have on water and the climate, saying, โ€œFarmers need water to continue to put food on our tables โ€“ so why are companies like Whitehaven allowed to take it with preference over farmers? Farmerโ€™s jobs are only going to get harder for them as the effects of climate change driven by coal takes hold. Why are our governments selling out our water and our climate for a quick buck when food security is at stake?โ€

The labor govt was in caretaker mode. Caretaker mode mens you dont sign things and decisions that need to be made are consulted with the opposition.

Should not have signed th lease, shoud have asked if it was required And no, it wasnt a publicity stunt as
you seem to think everything he does is.

Labor cocked up signing the lease.

There had to be provision for the PM to live somewhere.  But, TA made it into media circus, raving on about saving money.  Well he did not.  So it was a publicity stunt.  What was the point of going through legal process when nothing was saved?  \

By the way, I do not begrudge the politicians their perks.  They do work hard, and are under enormous stress; I could not do it.  But the LNP was relentless in criticized the ALP for every cent they spent.  So it is only befitting that now they get criticised when they are spending as much or more, while tightening the screws on those who cannot live more frugally.
